Hi, my name is Christian Gruber. You may know me from the Euro Meeting in Zurich as the then president of Round Table 31 Ludwigshafen, the man in the "Heidi"-wig, who invited you to Ludwigshafen to join our Euro-Meeting 2004. In real life I am father of two children, faithful husband and editor for politics at the Ludwigshafen newspaper "Die Rheinpfalz". Born in the "Beer-State" Bavaria in 1965, I came to the beaches of the Rhine-River in 1994, where I married Antje. After this long time living in the "Wine State" Rheinland-Pfalz, and being a member of RT 31 Ludwigshafen (since 1998), and because of the bad beer in Ludwigshafen, I changed my mind and became a real "Schoppetrinker". That means, I am drinking wine only out of half-a-litre-glasses. I look forward to our Euro Meeting in Ludwigshafen und I hope, all our friends from Zurich and from the RT-31-community all over the world will join us in 2004.

I was born on July 24th, 1969. After Military service and studies of Economics and business economics at the universities of Marburg, Germany, Canterbury and Reading, UK, I joined the leading food discount chainstore in Germany, ALDI, as a district manager in March 1995.
In July 1998, I became International Purchasing Manager for LIDL Stiftung with purchasing responsibility of approx. 2bn DM.
Since January 2000, I have working as a financial consultant for MLP Private Finance. Two years after joining the company I was asked to become managing consultant of one of the offices in Mannheim. Of course, I agreed.
My hobbies are running, badminton, fitness, wine-drinking an many sorts of hand-made music.
Monika, my girlfriend, is expecting our son in March 2004. Probably, I will have to redefine my hobbies in a few months.

I am an 34 year old electrical engineer working at Pepperl+ Fuchs in Mannheim, for development and research.
My home is in Limburgerhof, where I grew up and live with my wife Susanne and our two girls Sophie (3 ½) and Marie (1 ½).
I joined round Table in 2001, within 20 minutes I became the cashier (so watch your money...).
As we had great fun in Zurich (especially with our 'Heidi ballet'), I look forward to 2004, we already enjoy preparing the meeting for next year.

Matthias Pfeiffer
I am born April 17th 1964. The last seven years I have been busy with adhesives, their production, research, development of sophisticated formulations and design of modern industrial systems for paper and packaging. Here in Ludwigshafen at Türmerleim GmbH I’m responsible for the complete technical field. This requires the ability of complex thinking as my subjects are widely spread from development and research in laboratory scale, initiated directly from problems in the market to production scale, product strategies and taking care of my customers. We work mostly with aqueous polymer emulsions, resins and water formulated natural products like starch derivates or proteins. The adhesives are therefore very environmental friendly and are often used in the food industry.
I do a lot of sports like running, mountain biking, skiing and hiking. I love diving, underwater photography and create documentations on reefs and their biology. I keep two old motorcycles and an old Peugeot cabriolet in shape, that`s what women love me for. Is there any time for a girl left ? I think so. I get them amused by my infamous and beloved dinner parties. Actually a work on a recipe of a mango crème brulee in a flambéd version. Of course the vitamins will get a bit overcooked.

Hello Tabler and anybody else,
as we present RT 31 on the internet, I also want to give you a short
impression who I am:
I was born in 1973 in the palatinate (Pfalz) in the south of Germany - i.e.
the wonderful wine region around Landau - and my roots always kept me in the
south.
After my time at school I moved 1992 closer to Switzerland down to Freiburg
for studying pharmacy (and of course skiing).
Having had some work experience in Frankfurt and Ludwigshafen, I "decided" to
have one year of military service to fulfill my obligations...
My further studies led me 1999 to Tübingen for my doctors degree in pharmacy
which I finished in late 2002.
Since then I have been working for pharmaceutical company - ABBOTT GmbH & Co.
KG - back in the palatinate (Pfalz).
My first contact with Round Table was during my studies at Tübingen (RT 182).
Having joined this "Table" in late 2000, I already had to leave the friends I
found there in 2002 for moving to Ludwigshafen and beginning my work in the
pharmaceutical industry.
My new "home" is RT 31 and I was "captured" by this table in 2003. But who
knows, the journey might go on... :-)
Frank Trinkaus
I was born in Worms (River Rhine) 1965 and grew up in Bad Dürkheim (German
Winestreet). At the age of 17 I spent one year in British Columbia, Canada,
as an Rotary exchange student. When I came back, I finished high school and
served for one year in the German army. In 1987 I started an apprenticeship
in a bank and went to study business administration in 1989 at the
university of Regensburg. After the prediploma I changed to the university
of Mannheim where I got my diploma in 1995. Since 1994 I am married to my
glorious wife Ute, we have 3 children (3 girls), a dog, a cat, 2 birds, 2
rabbits and a horse. We live in Bad Dürkheim but actually not on a farm.
For 6 years now I am working at "Schloss Wachenheim", the world's largest
producer for "Sekt" (sparkling wine) and other winebased drinks & articles.
There I am in charge of the national distribution and very pleased with my
highly interesting job. My hobbies are tasting wine, cooking, listening to
music, playing boule, going shopping, playing a good round of golf and
travelling to foreign countries. All this I like to share of course with my
family whenever I find the time to relax.

Dear Tablers and friends - since I am partly responsible for this I am happy to welcome you all to the site and especially to our great event in 2004 - The RT31 Euromeeting in Ludwigshafen / Germany.
But now more about myself: I was born in 1970 in Heidelberg/Germany. After my school education and a career in motorsort I decided to start my own business in 1991 in the filed of technical marketing services.
Today I am managing director of Plainpeak Germany and Plainpeak North America (Canada) with a strong focus on business development and ebusiness consulting. In a nutshell we give business people more personal freedom by making their business work to support their life instead of their life supporting the business...
My hobbies are squash, biking, reading, RT, movies and the urban lobby. I live together with my lovely girlfriend Christy and Cosmo the cat. My Wife Sabine is an 31 year old teacher and together we have a little baby girl called Sophie who keeps us busy all the time.
Since 1999 I’m joining Round Table 31 Ludwigshafen. Having heard about the funny and successful Euromeeting in Swiss this year, I’m really looking forward to get to know all of you other table members of table 31 in Europe.
